BRANDLESHOLME BRANDING

As the creative team for Rose & Co. we were introduced to Michael Fern who was looking to establish a brand and online presence for his new dental practice in Bury.

Our initial idea was to capture some of the heritage of the area, the cotton mills of Lancashire. The practice clientele is mixed Private and NHS therefore an purely ostentatious brand wouldn’t suit. Our brief was to create a recognisable brand that set Brandlesholme Dentistry apart from the standard “tooth” logo while capturing the heritage of the area.

Building on the heritage of the area we created a brand inspired by the Victorian industrial past, the cotton mills, the pubs and the style of historical signs and packaging. In keeping with current trends we utilised modern “retro” typefaces in a way that every element could stand on its own as a piece of typography. In order to soften the “boilerplate” feel of the brand we introduced a modern script behind the block type, to add depth and allow for a “device” to be used across signage, stationery and digital media. The addition to the “Since 2018” was used as a satirical nod to the modernity of the future practice while adding to the established feel of the business.
