Professional Development for Dental Reception Teams

Close the education gap between your clinical and front-of-house teams

Your reception team may handle 40, 50 or even 60 patient interactions every day. They answer anxious questions, manage complex diaries, explain what happens next and shape how patients feel about your practice.

Yet while clinical teams have recognised pathways for learning and development, dental receptionists are still too often expected to learn through observation, pressure and trial and error.

Club Class gives front-of-house teams the knowledge, communication skills and professional support they need to become confident patient advocates and valued members of the wider dental team.

The Dental reception has changed. The training has not.

Today’s front-of-house teams are expected to understand patient anxiety, treatment pathways, diary pressures, affordability, communication and the relationship between clinical care and the patient experience.

Club Class provides the structured development that has been missing.

The C.A.P.E framework, perfected and led by Jen Blakeman

Conflict to Collaboration

Help clinical and front-of-house teams understand each other’s pressures, responsibilities and priorities.

Apathy to Advocacy

Give receptionists the confidence to listen, explain and help patients understand why their care matters.

Pressure to Patient Experience

Create calmer, more intentional systems for communication, scheduling and patient support.

Erosion to Education

Replace constant firefighting with structured learning, reflection and professional development.

What your front-of-house team will develop

Club Class helps your team become more confident.

  • Answering the telephone and creating a strong first impression
  • Listening for anxiety, uncertainty and unasked questions
  • Explaining appointments and treatment pathways clearly
  • Managing diaries with greater clinical and operational understanding
  • Supporting patients who are unsure about cost or next steps
  • Communicating consistently with clinicians, nurses and managers
  • Handling difficult conversations calmly and professionally
  • Understanding how their role affects patient trust and practice reputation
How Club Class works

Club Class is a 12-month development and mentoring programme for dental reception and front-of-house teams.

Rather than delivering a one-off training day and hoping the learning sticks, we support the team over time. This allows new skills to be applied, discussed and developed within the realities of the practice.

The programme combines structured learning, practical tools, reflection and ongoing guidance from Jen Blakeman.

Your team will receive regular monthly sessions, practical resources, shared learning with other members, ad-hoc help and guidance and the support you need to transform your practice with the introduction of the C.A.P.E framework

Led by Jen Blakeman

Jen has spent more than 30 years working in dentistry and understands the pressure, complexity and importance of the front-of-house role.

Her work is not about teaching receptionists to follow scripts or push patients into decisions. It is about helping them build professional confidence, understand the wider patient journey and become a stronger link between patients, clinicians and the practice.

Jen combines practical experience in patient communication, diary management, operational systems and compliance with a genuine belief that reception teams deserve better professional development.

How much?

Club Class is a 12-month programme costing £1945 per month, including VAT.

The monthly fee covers the development programme, ongoing support and access to the Club Class learning resources.
